Isar Society

An international community of young professionals* who find, discuss, and publish practical answers to Germany’s political and economic problems, in a time of otherwise looming decline and scarcity.

Meetings

Every two weeks in Munich

Each meeting is given to a single subject. Members come to work on it, and to meet like-minded people.

Examples

  • Combat Demographic Change
  • Fix the German Pension System

Procedure

How a decision is made

The procedure for a bi-weekly meeting is as follows:

One week before. A single topic and its background facts go out through the Digital Participation Portal.

Mid-term

Be a force for change

Over the mid-term, the society plans to form an independent Realo group inside the FDP party as a vessel to better things rather than stay a discussion forum in a vacuum. Any adoption or implementation of our proposals by other political actors is welcome, just as members of the society are welcome to join other political parties.

  1. 01 The society lays the groundwork
  2. 02 A Realo group inside the FDP party forms
  3. 03 Democracy may win

Interest

Ask to be included

This is a working group. Members are expected to participate, and the work is unpaid. The balance is roughly 80% work and 20% social.

If that sounds good to you, leave a name and an email. We're excited to meet you! After your message is received, a member of our community will contact you shortly.

Young is anyone who is interested in a long-term fix for Germany’s problems, instead of “waiting it out.” An 82-year-old who is willing to act is Young.
Professional is anyone who has built, or worked reliably at, something important. Important is what would have serious negative consequences for others if you abruptly did not show up, or made a mistake and did not fix it. A student who has engaged in significant social or business activities is a Professional.
